FLOOD

I just asked by someone to write about flood that ever happen in Indonesia, so I write about it. The location I choose is flood that happened in Bojonegoro, East Java, around December 2007 and January 2008. Here it is:

Flood that happen violently in Bojonegoro, East Java, has been making some impacts on the people life. First of all, it has been damage the infrastructure in Bojonegoro, such as, damage of road, water channel, and other important buildings like school, market, public service office, etc. There are some road damages that caused the traffic lane broken between Cepu and Bojonegoro, Cepu and Semarang, and also broken off the train rail, so the train from Semarang – Surabaya and on the contrary can not be established. Then, the damage of schools caused the students can not study at school as usual, because they must leaved school for a while until the school building is rebuilt. Secondly, it has been damage the fields and other agriculture means, so the farmers get ointment and suffering a financial loss. This is not only make the farmer suffer a financial loss, but will impact all people surroundings, because the agriculture in Bojonegoro is one of the big producer in agriculture sector in Indonesia. The third impact is that this flood caused the people suffering mostly, because they must refuge from their village and loss some wealth that they ever had before such as houses, cattle, other livestock, and also other kind of wealth such as money, gold, etc. Not only that, by become refugees, many people will get suffering mentally, such as trauma, depression, etc. Finally, the impact of flood can raise some deceases such as itch, cough, cold, and stomachache such as cholera, diarrhea, and so on.
